Meet Dr. Mark Friend
Dr. Mark Friend earned his Bachelor of Medical Science (Physiology) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery degrees from the University of Dundee in Scotland. For nearly 20 years, he worked as a dentist in the Royal Air Force and the British Army, living and working in numerous locations throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and South America.
After leaving the army in 2018, he began a new career as a general dentist in Northern Ireland, with a particular focus on restorative dentistry and aligner treatments. In 2019, he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Dentistry and in 2021, a Postgraduate Diploma in Orthodontics in Primary Care, initially focusing on fixed braces and later on clear aligners.
Mark joined Modern Dental Europe in December 2024, where he focuses on customer relations and clinical support for the TrioClear® range within SCD UK/ROI. He also develops educational initiatives for laboratories in the United Kingdom.
Mark has a great passion for the technical side of dental care.
As a child, he spent almost every weekend helping out in his father’s prosthetic dental laboratory in Edinburgh, Scotland. Today, he is passionate about supporting dentists and translating laboratory solutions into clinical practice.
