Webinar Summary: TrioClear® Simplified Alignment for General Dental Practitioners

This webinar is designed to demystify clear aligner therapy for the general dentist. Dr. Mark Friend focuses on identifying “predictable wins” cases that provide high patient satisfaction and clinical success without the complexities of advanced orthodontic movements.

Speaker: Dr. Mark Friend
Duration: 1 Hour
Focus: Case Selection & Execution for the General Dental Practitioner (GDP)

Key Learning Objectives

  • The “Low-Hanging Fruit”: How to identify minor crowding or spacing cases that are perfectly suited for a GDP’s scope of practice.
  • The TrioClear® Workflow: A walkthrough of the digital submission process, from intraoral scanning to the clinical “check” phase.
  • Predictability over Complexity: Understanding why these two specific case types minimize chair time and reduce the need for mid-course corrections.

Case Study Highlights

Dr. Friend breaks down two specific clinical scenarios:

  1. The Simple Anterior Crowding Case
    • Focuses on the “social six” (front teeth).
    • Discusses the use of Interproximal Reduction (IPR) and where to safely apply it.
    • Demonstrates how TrioClear®’s multi-step aligner thickness helps in managing tooth movement comfortably.
  2. Align and Restore Case
    • Focuses on aesthetic opening of a space around a missing lateral incisor.
    • Highlights the importance of retention protocols once the space is closed to prevent relapse.
    • Tips on managing patient expectations regarding tooth shape and size.

Clinical Takeaways

“The goal isn’t to move every tooth in the mouth; it’s to deliver a functional, aesthetic improvement that the general practitioner can manage with total confidence.”

  • Risk Assessment: Knowing when a case is too complex (e.g., significant rotations or bite corrections) and should be referred.
  • Patient Communication: Using digital simulations to increase case acceptance.
